TED: Ideas worth spreading

'Riveting talks by remarkable people, free to the world'

Technology, Entertainment, Design (TED) is an international nonprofit project / website / think tank which broadcasts public lectures and conferences videos basically about spreading ideas. Their mission statement seems to be broadcasting ideas that could 'change attitudes, lives and ultimately, the world.' Many of the speakers have won awards for their lectures and innovative ideas. A lot of the videos I've watched are to do with the digital age and the environment, but the videos seem to raise intellectual debate on a fantastically wide variety of subjects. The website itself is quite aesthetically pleasing, and in the sidebar you can choose from video themes including technology, entertainment, design, business, science and global issues, or alternatively from adjectives like 'jaw-dropping', 'persuasive', 'courageous', 'ingenious', 'fascinating', 'inspiring', 'beautiful', 'funny', 'informative' - and they really are. They post a video every weekday, so go check it out!

Here's the website: http://www.ted.com/

And here are a few videos I found interesting:
